We take pride in our goats and want them to be clear for goat diseases. Does are also tested for Q-fever and Brucellosis for the safety of consuming raw milk. We test all our adult goats through Washington State University aka Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab (WADDL).

What is CAE? Caprine arthritis encephalitis (CAE) is a contagious viral disease of goats. The disease is typically spread from mother to kid through the ingestion of colostrum or milk. CAE virus may also be spread among adult goats through contact with body secretions including blood and feces of infected goats.

What is CL? Caseous lymphadenitis is a contagious bacterial infection of the lymph nodes of sheep and goats. It is caused by a bacterium called Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. ... It is commonly found in the soil on farms with infected animals.

What is Johne's? Johne's (“YO-knees”) disease is a fatal gastrointestinal disease of goats and other ruminants (including cattle, sheep, elk, deer, and bison) that is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP).

What is Q-fever? Q fever, also called query fever, is a bacterial infection caused by the bacteria Coxiella burnetii. The bacteria are most commonly found in cattle, sheep, and goats around the world. Humans typically get Q fever when they breathe in dust that was contaminated by infected animals or raw milk.

What is Brucellosis? Brucellosis is a disease caused by a group of bacteria from the genus Brucella. These bacteria can infect both humans and animals. Brucellosis is often spread when people eat contaminated food, which can include raw meat and unpasteurized milk.
